My mid-forties arrived, and my body had a whole new set of surprises waiting.
The hot flashes showed up first — inconvenient and completely humbling. Then the sleep disruptions, the brain fog that made me feel like I was thinking through wet concrete, and that same creeping weight gain I'd fought before, now showing up differently and refusing to respond to any of the things that had worked in the past. I remember standing in my kitchen one morning, exhausted before the day had even started, thinking — I actually know a lot about this. Why is it still this hard?
Because perimenopause is a different animal entirely. And even armed with knowledge, navigating it alone is hard. I had to rebuild my approach from the ground up — retooling my nutrition, adjusting my movement, learning to work with my hormones instead of fighting them. It took time. It took patience. And it took a level of self-compassion I hadn't fully practiced before.
Both seasons, postpartum and perimenopause, changed me as a woman. But they also made me the coach I am today.
I built this practice because I know exactly what it feels like to sit across from a doctor who tells you everything looks fine when nothing feels fine. I know what it's like to scroll through conflicting advice at midnight, too tired to think straight, trying to figure out which version of "healthy" actually applies to you. I know the quiet grief of feeling disconnected from your own body — and I know the relief, the genuine joy, of finding your way back to it.
